Tsveta Laleva is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT#96983). She holds a B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Tsveta’s passion and expertise is working with children, teens, young adults and families. She provides a safe and nurturing environment to explore feelings and solve problems. She has extensive training and experience working with clients who struggle with:
• Anxiety, including social anxiety and self-esteem issues
• Family relationship topics, including parenting and acculturation
• Trauma, grief and loss
Tsveta is easy to talk to, has a good sense of humor, and is a quick learner. Working through problems is never easy, but she will offer you warm and non-judgmental presence, as well as provide problem-solving skills and new perspectives. She uses tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, Attachment, Narrative, Systems and Psychodynamic therapy.
Tsveta immigrated to United States more than 14 years ago from Eastern Europe. Her bicultural background makes her especially skillful when working with different values, belief systems, and diversity including gender, race, class, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. She continues to improve her therapeutic skills and knowledge by participating in continuing education trainings and keeping up with new research.
